We Are Finally Live!

First of all I’d like to welcome everyone to Go Fish Magazine. Go Fish Magazine is an idea born out of love of fishing throughout the world and a strong belief that anglers will support this magazine but letting their friends know about. The online magazine is FREE and contains work from some of the best fishing writers in the world.

How can we publish a fishing magazine for free?

Simple, we don’t rely on funding from subscribers and will never ask you for donations or subscription fees.

Our goal at Go Fish Magazine is simple.  We want to provide you with excellent articles, photos, destinations, guides, lodges, resorts and how to information to make your fishing experience the best it can be. Go Fish Magazine will be published online every three months. Back issues will remain online in the archives, so don’t worry, you don’t even have to print out your stories. If you do want to print out a story it will be easy because Go Fish Magazine is formatted as a printable pdf file.

In the first issue, co-editor, Chris Batin, writes about one of his favorite Alaska fishing destinations, Alaska’s Undiscovered Country – Prince William Sound. Chris is publisher of Alaska Angler and Alaska Hunter Publications and on the masthead of Outdoor Life. His vast experience and knowledge of Alaska fishing will benefit Go Fish Magazine readers.

Mary Peachin brings her award-winning writing to Go Fish Magazine with her article, Trophy Fishing in Yukon Territory. Mary is an experienced adventure angler who travels the world in search of fishing adventures. Her articles have won numerous awards with the Outdoor Writers Association of America.

Bill AuCoin, who writes The AuCoin Report, has been in the fishing and outdoor industry for decades. His knowledge of the outdoors will be much appreciated by readers.

Now a couple of words about me, your founding editor/publisher. My fishing career began at age eight, after a 23-pound king salmon bit my lure and gave me a thrill I still remember. I hooked the fish and the fish hooked me. After that memorable day fishing has become more of a life choice than hobby or career.

In 1988 my journalism career began with a weekly newspaper column and monthly magazine article. In the years to come hundreds of my fishing articles found their way into F&H News, Nor’Westing Magazine, B.C. Sport Fishing, Island Fish Finder, Trailer Boats Magazine, Sport Fishing Magazine, Game & Fish, North American Fishing Club, Fish Alaska Magazine, Salmon Trout Steelhead Magazine, Salmon & Steelhead Journal and for twenty years, N.W. editor of Western Outdoors Magazine.

A few years back one of my lifetime goals became reality when I set the six-pound I.G.F.A. line class record for Chinook salmon – with a 51.25 pound fish.

Currently I am the president of the Outdoor Writers Association of America. For five years I hosted The Sportsman’s Show on KVI radio. That experience led me to the Internet, where I now own/operated 20 websites, including www.LetsTalkOutdoors.com

I sincerely hope you enjoy Go Fish Magazine and welcome your comments or questions. And don’t forget to tell your friends about Go Fish Magazine.

Tight Lines,

John L. Beath
